4Excellent TV for the price!!!
By Joseph E. Banks
I really am happy with this tv. I actually bought it used and it works great. Sometimes, after it's been on a really long time, if the screen might go black if it overheats. However, just wait for it to cool and turn it back on. The picture is not the best that I've seen, but for the price, it's worth buying.

5VO420E
By Eric
I replaced a sony bravia kdl-32M4000 with this HDTV not expecting it to be quite as good. It turns out its much better the sony had poor backlight uniformity, Color saturation, black level. The Vizio is much better in all those cases. All though the black level is still not as good as i would want its still very good such as it is for a CCFL backlit LCD. Connections includePS3Samsung BD-P1600 blu ray playerHDDVRAll look better on the Vizio than the sony not to say sony is bad but lower priced sony vs lower priced vizio get vizio highest priced sony (XBR) vs highest priced vizio (XVT) get sony.

5Delighted is not enough to describe
By John N. Schear
I applaude the first evaluator for his detailed comments. He is accurate in his description and his accolades fully accentuate the quality of this little gem. At 22" and 720p you could not ask for more other than a slightly larger screen at a slightly larger price. When I compare this picture with the same model 40" there is no difference other than the size. I do not know the pixel pitch of either TV; however, the normal sighted viewer cannot tell any difference in picture quality even though the 40" is 1080p vs 720p. This TV makes the perfect companion for working on a computer and viewing the TV next to it. Any TV can be torn to pieces for this reason and that but for the money and size this is going to be hard to beat. One item that I might find fault with is the potential cost imputed in the TV for the Touch of Color. That is a waste of money for me and could be omitted in other models if the cost of the addition is eliminated as well. Unlike the 40", I had little or no problem calibrating this 22" even though the controls almost mirror each other. My final: enjoy; I am.added 9-22-08: I neglected to include an important element of this purchase. Amazon sold the TV and I am overwhelmed by their attention to details. Every part of the transaction went perfectly from placing the order on 8-10 and delivery a few days later using free shipping. The same TV at big box is 20% to 25% more and you pay taxes and cost of visiting. Amazon continues to give the best bang for the buck.

5Very nice TV
By David Noller
We bought this TV for our master bedroom, to replace a 20" Panasonic standard TV. This is our first LCD TV and also our first HDTV, so this is quite an adjustment for us. The first problem we ran into is what to do with the DVR and the cable box since we had those on top of our old TV and there was no good place to put them with the LCD on a stand (on our dresser). This was solved when we found a stand at Staples that wrapped around the cable box and supported the DVR (upon which we have the TV sitting, it is pretty light ...).We have the TV hooked up with a splitter such that we have a cable from the wall that comes directly in, and another one that comes in via the cable box with S-Video. I was kind of disappointed when I first looked at a regular channel coming in over the S-Video as it really looked no better than the Panasonic. On top of that, putting the TV in WIDE mode to fill the screen distorts the picture slightly. To my surprise, I discovered that he best signal was actually from the cable coming directly from the wall. In this configuration, similar to another reviewer, I was able to pick up DTV and HD channels too, although it is somewhat difficult to tell what is where since there is no rhyme or reason to the organization of the channels before the cable box sorts it out. Once I made my own list of channels, however, I had a nice assortment of great looking HDTV channels and the picture looks fantastic for these, especially after some tuning (I jacked up the backlight and lowered the brightness and that did it).I saw a number of reviews of the predecessor of this TV (the 450) that complained about the sound. To me, at least, the sound on this TV is just fine and I like the surround sound. The TV is very nice looking - I was expecting the screen to be glossy based on what I had read but it is not, it is a matte finish. The frame around the screen (with the touch of color) is very glossy and the red color is very subtle, unlike the photos Amazon is displaying. The controls on the right side of the TV are very hard to see, but I don't expect to use them anyway so I am glad they are not that visible as it would detract from the look of the TV otherwise. The base of the TV is much wider than the one shown in the Amazon picture - I'd say it is about 12 inches wide or so. That is good too though, in my view, as it distributes the weight across a larger area if you want to put it on top of something like a DVR like I did.The TV seems too take a bit of time to come on, I have not timed it, but maybe 5 seconds or so. One other small quibble is the fact that the stand is not adjustable so you cannot tilt the screen forward or backwards. We have it on a dresser facing our bed, so the angle is just about perfect when we are in bed, so this is not an issue for us, but it could be in other configurations. As to size, I had trouble deciding between a 19" and 22" version of this TV, since I was replacing the 20" Panasonic. We are probably 10 ft away from the TV when we are looking at it in our bedroom and the 20" Panasonic was just the right size. After measuring screens, I concluded that the 19" version of this TV was the same width screen as my Panasonic, but due to the widescreen aspect ratio, was about 2" shorter top to bottom, so a lot less viewing area. Because of that, I went with the 22" Samsung and I am glad I did. The 19" would have seemed too small compared to what we replaced. One other point on the Series 6 - I think the higher contrast ratio and resolution of this TV makes a big difference in the picture. If you have a chance, go to Best Buy or another store and look at a series 6 screen (LN22A650 and LN19A650 are both series 6)compared to a 450 TV of the same size. I noticed that the series 6 was much brighter and crisper and had much truer tones on skin, so that, combined with the nice look of the TV, convinced me that it was worth the extra money. Finally, it makes a very cool noise when it turns on and off! :)

5Very Good 22" LCD HDTV
By DBroncos 4 Life
UPDATE 09-25-2008:I still like this little LCD...BUT the off-angle viewing, mostly from below, is quite bad. I know LCDs are notorious for this, but I have a 32" Sammy LCD that is 2 years old and it doesn't look at all as bad as this one. In other words, I moved this LCD from my office to on top of a tall dresser and I view it from my bed (when laying down), it is a good 4 or 5 feet below the TV and the screen is very dark. Sometimes unwatchable during dark scenes. My fix will be to buy a mount that will allow me to tilt the LCD down. That will fix the problem.Right and left viewing angles are fine though. Just from below it is horrendous. Just wanted to add that. It's not a deal breaker or anything. Just something to consider. Still a great product from Samusung.I have had this 720p LCD for about a week now and these are my initial impressions.Pros:- Excellent picture via Cox cable HD channels- SD video is actually pretty good- computer hook-up via HDMI is impressive (Good second monitor for laptops)- picture via Panasonic upconverting DVD is superbCons:- only one HDMI and one component connectionNeither:- Sound is average, but this TV is only 22"It is for a small bedroom, office, or kitchen. Maybe as a computer monitor or to play PS3/Xbox while watching TV.Overall I like it for a HDTV in my office and as a second monitor for my Toshiba laptop. As far as settings, I like "Standard" with the backlight at 8 and cool2. The rest of the settings can be adjusted (contrast, sharpness, color, etc,) but I like the default with only the above changes. For DVD, I recommend "Movie" mode and warm2(default).Nice job once again SAMSUNG. Quality product at a fair price.Oh and I love you Amazon even though I am upset about you getting rid of the POPG.Please post any questions about this model under comments and I will check back and answer best I can

1LG - LIFE IS NOT GOOD !
By Charlie
I bought a LG 50 inch Plasma Model 50PA5500 TV on May 16th 2012. After 35 days the picture would not display properly. They responded quickly as far as sending a technician to my house but were unable to determine the cause. I received another call the next day from the repair company and LG told them to try replacing the controller board before replacing the panel. Parts not due in until the following week.I contacted LG for a replacement television because now I will have a refurbished rather than a new television. They refused saying that their policy was to repair the unit. When I mentioned that the unit should last more than 35 days and that there were merchantability laws in Maine, the supervisor balked and told me that it didn't apply to them and that it was only for business in Maine. When I told her I would pursue that avenue, she told me to go ahead because it was her office that received those letters from the state.

4Great TV, No Swivel Base
By J. Bambrough
Beware, this does not swivel as advertised by Amazon!! That is the only reason I bought the LG over the Sharp 19" tv was for the swivel base for the same price. We have the Sharp and we like it better for its aesthetics and picture quality. The LG also has a great picture and easy set up, we just were looking for a tv that would swivel. It does also tilt slightly up and down to accomodate high or low placement/viewing. So, if you want a fixed base, it is a good bet.

4Amazing sound quality
By CallMeB
I shipped this 19" TV to my cousin, who is a mad gaming freak. He has a playstation and he is always hooked up with his television. The best thing about this product is the sound quality. It is amazing to use it in a small room, and the picture quality is pretty good. You get free shipping for this product, which is great. The price is just perfect, in fact I would call it a steal.19" "may" [personal opinion] feel small for your living room and this is more apt for a smaller room.A good alternative is LG 22LH20 [22"], which you can get for [...] - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001V5J7QQ?ie=UTF8&tag=tvrecommendations-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001V5J7QQIf you are looking for a TV in your bedroom, go for this one. 5First class TV
By Grump
Packed well, easy to install, good picture, good sound. Excellent kitchen TV. Gets all the HD channels in HD with no cable adapter even though I don't have that feature in my plan from Comcast. On my other TVs (With adapters and cable boxes) these channels are standard definition.

5I can't vouch for the refurbished model, but I've had a new one for 6 months and love it so far
By Nathan Andersen
I bought one of these on sale new at a local store (for a bit less than the currently advertised price of this one) about 6 months ago, and have been loving it ever since. Obviously, this review is for the television itself, and I can't speak to whether the refurbished units are fine. Still, I hope that this review is helpful for those who are just thinking about whether this brand will work well for them. I've compared it with the other top brand televisions and, as far as I can tell, for the small family this is about as good as it gets (and certainly as good as it needs to be). I can't imagine why anyone would need a more expensive television, with more features than this one, unless they just need a bigger television for a bigger room. You can plug in hdmi, s-video, component video and audio, cable antennae; you can get signals from dvd and blu-ray players, game systems, camcorders, etc., and hook up surround sound devices for an excellent home movie experience. It's easy to switch between devices using the remote provided (or a universal remote). We get cable, including several HD stations, and have an upconverting dvd player, and a Wii; occasionally I'll watch what I've recorded on my HD camcorder, through an hdmi cable. You can take off the stand to mount this on a wall. We have it sitting on top of a small and short but sturdy table, and it stands quite well and solidly.I've been very impressed by the quality of the video - especially with HD content at the full 1080p - and the sound by itself is quite satisfactory for our small living room. We chose Sanyo because several people had told us that they stand by their televisions, and create no problems with returning defective units. Luckily, we've had no problems whatsoever in 6 months, but I'm glad to know we'll be covered if we do have problems.

4quite satisfied
By B. baysinger
we previously owned a polaroid 36 inch HD LCD 1080p that we paid $1000 for. it only lasted us 5 years, and in that time we had to have it serviced twice while it was still under warranty. this last time it just completely lost all power and we decidede to replace it rather than paying to fix it. this Sanyo was not our 1st choice but out of the 3 TV's we picked out at best buy, there were no local stores that had any of them in stock. getting frustrated, we went to Walmart and picked up this sanyo for under $500 ($536 total with tax and extended 3yr warranty).THE GOOD: compared to our Polaroid, this sanyo is a major upgrade in terms of picture quality! the picture is so bright, crisp and clear, we had no idea what poor quality the picture we got on our old set was, until we turned this one on. I really was amazed at the difference. it is also very light weight compared to our old model. I don't know if that's good or bad in terms of construction, but I'd feel much more inclined to wall mount this model, than i would with our old polaroid. it has 3 HDMI ports, 3 sets of video inputs (the red, yellow and white plugs), which is good, because it allows you to have several devices hooked up to the TV at one time, and I noticed when shopping around that there are very few models that offer that. if you buy a model that only has one set of video inputs you may have to buy a converter box if you want to have gaming systems, surround sound, or dvd players all hooked up at the same time. it also has a computer input, usb port, video and audio output, DVI input and antenna input. as far as other TV FEATURES: it has dynamic volume which helps maintain smoother volume levels (like when it goes to a comercial that is extremely loud), there is an eco button that has 3 settings so you can minimize or raise the amount of power the TV uses. another feature is pix shape, there are 7 settings you can choose from manually or you can choose auto select and the TV will automatically choose the correct setting based on the format of what you are watching. there is also a "help" button on the remote that will help you trouble shoot various topics, which I found really cool. the menu screen is fairly easy to use, and it has several short cut/ default settings you can choose if you have trouble manually settting your preferences. there is a handy closed caption button on the remote(rather than having to go into your settings menu). there are also other typical features such as channel recall and sleep button.THE BAD: the sound quality is not spectacular. we usually mute the TV and run the sound through a home theatere system, but if you don't have that option don't expect anything fantastic in terms of sound. If you do have home theatre, there is also no fiberoptic output on this model, but most tivo's and cable boxes have one, so it's not too big of an issue for most people. there is no option to show the time of day on the screen, which isn't a deal breaker but I still wish it had one. finally, the function buttons on the TV itself are not in the most convienient location. they are placed on the underside of the TV which makes it difficult to tell which button you are pushing. I don't understand why they didn't put them right on the front or on the side, as that would have been easier to see and use... but again not a deal breaker.all in all I think this is a great TV and we have been very Happy with it so far. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the sub-par sound quality and the placement of functional buttons on the TV, but still an excellent choice for the price!A Few tips to consider before you buy a TV: 1. it's a bad idea to buy TV's off the internet. while there are many internet beusinesses that can stock various models of tv's, they may not be an actual "licenced dealer" which can make your warrenty null and void. if you are going to buy via internet, make sure you do so thru a national chain such as KMart, walmart or best buy. 2. TV's are not built to last 20 years like they used to be. the average LCD tv has a life of about 65,000 to 100,000 viewing hours. 3. NEVER buy a floor model!!!! think about it, if that tv was hanging on a wall for 6 months (which is the average) and was up and running 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, that adds up to alot of hours off the life of your TV 4. Plasma TV's are more prone to image burn and reflect even the smallest amount of light 5. a service repair man once told me that the brand they sevice the least is panasonic, the brand they sevice the most emmerson, so if a panasonic is in your price range, it may be one of your better bets in terms of minimal likelyhood to need repairs.

5Extremely happy with this TV!
By USN2EE
This TV is immaculate! I was worried about the very few and negative reviews so I looked the TV up on walmart and it had 230 reviews with a 4.5....And it shows! Perfect picture, great sound, everything...Extremely happy with this TV.

5An excellent choice!
By Donald A. Shinn
I opted to go for a lower priced HDTV for my bedroom and this one quickly moved to the top of the list. I've had it for a few days now and it's everything I wanted and more. I have a one year old Samsung HDTV (their 530 series) and this HDTV is every bit its equal in terms of picture quality. Hi-def images are amazing and regular definition is also displayed very well. I have absolutely no complaints about this HDTV.

1Bad Choice
By J. Syverson
Bought this for $469 from Walmart. No video after 85 days. Video wasn't that great to start out with. Glad Wally World has a 90 day return policy. They took it back after 85 days with no box. Purchased an LG 42" for $100 more. I already have an LG and for 2 years its been a great TV. WIll not be buying any more RCA products. A TV should not break after 3 months. That's why they sell it cheaper. Hope this helps your choice.

5LOVE IT!!! Better than the 55" Samsung LCD
By Nosferatu524
First off...I have no gripes with the Samsung 55" LN55B6xx series screens (2009 models) but it's the newer ones the C630, etc. (2010) I've gotten 4 people to buy the LN55B6xx models and loved them so I figured it's my turn to upgrade to this. I originally got the Samsung LN55C630 and a few things I don't like about it compared to this LG are the following. #1 - input lag. If you don't know what this is search it on wikipedia. Basically this LG has very minimal lag. It's a fast panel with equal color reproduction as the Samsung. #2 - frame interpolation (the smooth thing on the 120Hz+ panels) is much more natural on the LG (whereas the Samsung looks fake). Both TVs offer customization for it in Blur and Jitter correction. I use the TV for HD content off a home theater PC, DirecTV, and Xbox360 action. I found both TV's give issues with videos looking "jerky" with the frame interpolation turned on unlike my old 60Hz TV but simply dropping the PC's refresh rate to 24Hz (film is shot 23.976) made the 5:5 pull up perfect! The dealbreaker which makes the LG work is for gaming. The Samsung flat out you CANNOT play games on it with the input lag being so terrible. The Samsung was around 130-160 ms in lag whereas for me the LG is around the 50-65 ms range. Much more tolerable! Oh and this one's cheaper!Your best bet is to go and look at a TV before you buy it (along with reading reviews). I walked into the store (Best Buy) with my laptop and an HDMI cable in hand and started playing with all their big panels. This is the best one for the money. I took a chance on this one being there's really no reviews on this new model but I can't regret it one bit.BUY BUY BUY!!!

5Best TV
By I Love HIP HOP
I purchased this tv from Best Buy for 1299, and I must say it was worth every penny. The true motion feature is awesome. While watching Law and Order it looks like I standing right there on set, I have never seen a TV display such with such a crisp picture. I almost purchased a 58" samsung plasma, but after reading some reveiws I quickly changed my mind. If your in the market to purchase a tv, this is the one to purchase.

5Great TV for the price
By ADobbs
Just purchased this TV from Amazon (just over $1,400) with free shipping and NO TAX. Best Buy had it for the same price, but I liked the fact that I was able to save $70 in tax, and pay for this TV over a 2 year (24 interet free financing) period if I wanted. Just set it up tonight, and am watching the Boise St. versus Va Tech game. TV looks great combined with an HD signal. I have FIOS, and the picture quality is awesome. I didn't find a whole lot of reviews on this TV, so I wanted to add to the short list. This isn't a top of the line TV, nor is it a bottom of the market TV. I bought the Sanus tilting wall mount that holds up to 56 inch TV's, and it holds with no problems. I just saw that the 240 Hz model is only $150 more now, but hey, that kind of stuff happens all the time with electronics. I am very happy with my purchase so far.
